Who is Ms LJ in your Friends List for 2006?

Are you kidding? With so many worthy candidates, one would think that it would be a hard call to make. But it is NOT. When you think about such things as posting frequency, diversity and uniqueness of icons, utilization and expertise of LJ functions, and ability to make their blog a living, breathing experience to read and follow, that really narrows it down quickly.

I'll share *my* answer with you this weekend, but you guys can kick it around awhile in the meantime.

All together now: Mob Rule is bad. Constitutional democracy is good. What do you think is going on in the Palestinian Territories right now? Definitely not anything for the West to celebrate. I hope Hamas does a 180 degree turn, renounces violence, and becomes a force for peace. But somehow, I really, really, doubt that will happen. Between Iran, Syria, and now those guys, I see dark days ahead for a while in that troubled region.

Quick, what is the difference between sperm and yoghurt?

Yoghurt doesn't slam down the back of your throat at 23 mph!

And on that note, here is a commercial that will make you squirm. :P

[info]peachestavern is now up and about on her own, with a follow up trip to the doctor's on the schedule today. That, along with a new computer occupying her desktop, and income taxes completed for the year, makes her a very placated camper. Translation for moi: I can put down the elephant gun.

Not that she is a Republican (for she is most certainly not), but I digress.

The fact of the matter is that her recovery period was not as painful as I thought it would be. And as she reasserts her independence again, I can truly go back to my normal routine. That is, until she gets her other foot worked on. And the whole process starts again.

Hmmm.

Maybe *I* still need that elephant gun after all.

What does that spectral thingie really mean? I don't know, other than the fact that it has made a LOT of people scratch their heads and wonder "What does that spectral thingie mean?!" All I know is that I don't need a complicated analysis to know that I can find common ground with the lot of you. So go forth and be productive on a Friday. The weekend is coming, and for those of us looking forward to the time off, it can't come soon enough.

Cheers, Gang!

All of my head scratching on the spectral thingie was caused by my ianability to get there from here. I never could open the darn thing!

And Darth Maul was a weenie. What a disappointing bad guy he turned out to be.

And regarding the Palestinian elections; Do you know what I think? I think that the Palestinians and a significant segment of the Arab world doesn't want peace.. They have no idea how to live in peace, and they would lose a purpose to their lives that they have been bred to. Even if Israel were gone and the West vanquished, they would not be satisfied. We will have a long wait if we're expecting peace in that part of the world. Only in the next life...

Darth Maul went different directions faster than a National Enquirer Hollywood couple. At least John Wayne Bobbit got severance pay.

The trick with the Spectral Analyzer -- picking up the observer's user name -- was utterly lost when it produced a completely different spectrum for the same user every time you looked at it.

Hamas is a bit like many African dictators -- addicted to life-or-death power over others. They, as you said, have no idea what to do otherwise.

And what would happen if Hamas lives up to the recently signed treaty? If they actually foreswore violence and terrorism?

Why, it would be horrible! Palestinians would grow, prosper, and develop ever-greater commercial ties with Israel and the West, their education would focus on productive things (not how to be a martyr by age 13), their health and lifespans would dramatically increase, and their lots would improve in every way.

Hamas cannot have that. ]:-/
